The Patient Registrar is a full-time, on-site role that handles various clerical functions in the medical reception area. This position reports directly to the Supervisor of the Pre-Clinical department.

Responsibilities Include:

• Greeting patients
• Answering phone calls
• Collect patient's office co-payments, as well as laser, surgery, or prior balance payments
• Contact a representative from Finance when a patient has a question about a bill received
• Balance drawer total at the close of business daily and submits all moneys to Finance department for review by the Patient Account Manager
• Prepare chart labels and various clerical tasks in reception area
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follows all HIPPA guidelines

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Expertise in medical office procedures is required. This includes:

• Competency in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Intermediate typing and computer skills.
• Ability to make simple mathematical calculations for payments.
• Proficient with reading, understanding and following written and oral instructions.
• Capability of filing and maintaining patient records, reports, and other correspondence.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and Manager.

Experience

One year of work experience preferred, preferably in a medical office setting. Must be fluent in Spanish.
