Job Summary
Responsible for installing commercial electrical systems including lighting, switchgear, receptacles, controls, and panelboards. Performs underground trenching, EMT/PVC/Rigid conduit installation, grounding, and light-pole foundations. Leads apprentices/helpers, reads electrical plans, completes conduit pulls, wire terminations, labeling, and megger testing. Coordinates with GCs, inspectors, utilities, and other trades to keep work on schedule. Communicates daily with the Master Electrician and Project Manager, maintains jobsite safety, conducts toolbox talks, and tracks materials, tools, and workflow.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial electrical systems: lighting, switchgear, receptacles, controls, and panelboards.
• Perform underground trenching, conduit installation (EMT, PVC, Rigid), grounding, and light-pole foundations.
• Lead and supervise apprentices, helpers, and equipment operators.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and electrical plans.
• Complete conduit pulls, wire terminations, labeling, and megger testing.
• Coordinate with outside entities including general contractors, other trades, inspectors, utility providers, and project owners to ensure electrical work is completed correctly and on schedule.
• Communicate progress with the Master Electrician and Project Manager daily.
• Ensure jobsite safety and conduct toolbox talks.
• Track materials, tools, equipment, and workflow.

Qualifications

• Valid Journeyman Electrician License (Texas or reciprocal state).
• 5+ years commercial experience (retail, TI, ground-up preferred).
• Ability to supervise crews of 3–8 workers.
• Strong blueprint reading skills.
• Reliable transportation; willingness to travel for projects.
• Ability to work on lifts, ladders, and perform physical tasks.
