Dean's Professional Services is seeking a Virtual Medical Assistant to support Texas Children's Hospital in a fast-paced, on-site clinical setting. This role offers the chance to be part of an innovative telehealth program while helping patients and families navigate their care with clarity and compassion.
Position OverviewAs a Virtual Medical Assistant, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients accessing both virtual and ambulatory clinics. You will help guide patients through the visit process, provide technical assistance, support providers, and ensure a smooth care experience across multiple specialties.
Key ResponsibilitiesVirtually room patients and families to start telemedicine visits.
Assist patients in navigating the video platform and patient portal.
Review appointment status and patient history in the EHR to support check-in and check-out.
Communicate with providers and staff about patient arrivals, scheduling changes, and delays.
Deliver professional customer service and assist patients with concerns or technical issues.
Arrange translation services to support inclusive care.
Support provider scheduling and patient flow in a multi-specialty environment.
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare or ambulatory setting.
One of the following certifications is required:
NCMA - National Center for Competency Testing
NRCMA - National Association of Health Professionals
RMA - AMT, AAH, AAMP, or ARMA
EMT-I, EMT-P, or Licensed Paramedic - Texas Department of State Health Services
Experience with EHR systems and healthcare technology.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
