Reports to: Lead Sterile Process
We are looking for a Sterile Process Technician to support our manufacturing team by cleaning, sterilizing, inspecting, and packaging medical products. In this role, you’ll ensure quality and productivity standards are consistently met while working in a controlled cleanroom environment. You’ll collaborate with team members, leads, and supervisors to achieve performance goals in efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
As a Sterile Process Technician, you will:
Perform Core Processing Tasks
Clean, sterilize, inspect, package, and repair medical products according to work instructions and prints.
Set up and operate production equipment and fixtures.
Conduct line clearance and changeovers to prepare for production runs.
Ensure Quality & Compliance
Inspect your own work and that of others, performing simple repairs when needed.
Maintain accurate documentation, material requests, and reporting in systems such as Agile/SAP.
Follow all corporate, regulatory, safety, and cleanroom requirements.
Support Team Success
Cross-train or mentor colleagues in areas of expertise.
Monitor materials at point-of-use and report shortages.
Suggest simple process improvements to support continuous improvement efforts.
Technical & System Responsibilities
Achieve certification at product testing stations, demonstrating troubleshooting and error-log review skills.
Complete required MPI training (25+ hours) and meet I&A Training Points (24+).
Respond to Andon lights, generate and close quality notifications, and support basic troubleshooting.
Perform teardowns and rework/repairs as needed (IPC certified preferred).
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 9 months as an Intuitive Surgical employee in good standing or 3+ years of experience in complex mechanical assembly.
Prior SPD or CBSPD experience and HSPA certification preferred.
Skills & Abilities
English reading, writing, and communication skills for instructions, documentation, and team collaboration.
Strong math skills (basic calculations, percentages, tolerances).
Ability to work in standardized situations with occasional variability.
Proficiency with computers, online documentation, and ERP systems (Agile/SAP).
Comfortable working varying shifts, completing training courses, and adhering to cleanroom standards (gowning, no jewelry/makeup).
