Job Title: SOLIDWORKS Mechanical Designer – DoD Projects
Location: Spokane, WA
Duration: 12+ Month Contract (Potential for Long-Term)
Clearance Requirement: Must be eligible to support U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) contracts
Shift: First Shift | Monday – Friday
Pay Rate: $30.00 – $48.00 per hour (based on experience)
We are currently seeking a highly motivated SOLIDWORKS Mechanical Designer to join our client’s Product Development team in Spokane, WA. This position supports the design and development of Rigid Wall Shelter Systems and related structures for military and commercial applications. The role is part of a collaborative team environment and works closely with a mechanical engineer, manufacturing engineer, and technician.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide CAD design support for Rigid Wall Shelter products
Collaborate on the design and development of new systems and improvements to existing structures
Participate in design reviews with both internal stakeholders and external customers
Address technical challenges on the production floor, ensuring quick resolution and minimal downtime
Ensure designs meet both manufacturability and performance requirements
Contribute to the development of rugged, deployable structures for harsh environments
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in SolidWorks (primary CAD tool) and AutoCAD
Experience in designing sheet metal components, weldments, and steel structures
Familiarity with residential or commercial structural design
Background in designing for extreme or rugged environments preferred
Experience using SolidWorks PDM or similar product data management tools
Knowledge of military/aerospace design processes and specifications (e.g., MIL-STD-810, ISO, ISO 668) is highly desirable
