Job Description

We are working with a large, international company that is seeking an experienced legal counsel to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for in-house legal matters including drafting commercial agreements, addressing compliance issues, risk management, managing outside counsel, and corporate governance. In order to succeed, this candidate should feel comfortable working with in-house and outside counsel on a variety of legal matters, and should be comfortable engaging with a variety of cultures on a professional basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support to various internal departments, especially HR, procurement, and finance
• Negotiate and draft complex transactional agreements
• Take preemptive measures to avoid legal risks and conflicts
• Manage corporate governance matters
• Handle internal compliance, including trainings, as well as compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Manage outside counsel with respect to open litigation matters

Qualifications

• J.D. and barred in at least one state
• 5+ years of legal work experience (in house or law firm)
• Strategic thinker; analytical problem-solver
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to navigate global, multi-jurisdictional environment effectively
• Strong collaborator; ability to build relationships internally
