Shift: Full-Time | 36 hours/week
Hours: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (Night Shift)

Sign-On Bonus: Up to $3,000
Paid out at 3, 6 and 12 months

Are you passionate about helping others and ready to take the next step in your healthcare journey? Mercy Hospital South is looking for compassionate, team-oriented individuals to join ourInpatient Med Surg Eastunit as aPatient Care Associate (PCA).

In this hands-on role, you'll work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide essential care and support to patients. From assisting with daily activities and hygiene to monitoring vital signs and ensuring a safe, healing environment-you'll be a key part of each patient's recovery journey.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC, or current enrollment in a healthcare career program through high school curriculum.
  • Current Mercy co-workers are also eligible.
  • No prior experience required-Mercy provides a 175-hour paid training program that meets state Department of Health and Senior Services requirements. This must be completed within 90 days of hire.

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within one month of hire.
  • Completion of PCA competencies required within three months of hire.
  • Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform patient care tasks.

Other Requirements:

  • Strong time management and clinical judgment.
  • Flexibility with assignments and willingness to work as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to maintaining compliance with required certifications and training.
