Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

The NBC News Group is looking for an experienced Manager of Programming.

Responsibilities:

• Manage programming efforts across the NBC News Group including NBC News, NBC News NOW, NBC News on Peacock, Dateline 24/7, TODAY All Day, and syndication.
• Translate editorial needs into practical programming & production solutions.
• Partner with Editorial, Tech, and Master Control to ensure flawless execution.
• Own relationships with data aggregators; ensure program listings are correct. 
• Oversee scheduling of content in NBCU’s scheduling system, Compass.
• Manage delivery of content with editorial teams. 
• Ensure programming changes have been updated with data aggregators and distribution partners.
• Execute off-hours program changes, as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a media related field.
• Extremely detail oriented and opening to learning new skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and a program scheduling software.
• Understanding of television production terms
• Ability to work flexible hours and respond during off-hours.

• Minimum of 4 years in television programming. 
• Appreciation and understanding of news.
• Proven success in a fast-paced and fluid environment.
• Self-starter with a positive outlook on life and sense of humor.

Additional Job Requirements:

• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.
• Must be willing to work in NYC
• Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
