SBM Management is looking for a EHS Manager to join their team! The EHS Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, and implementing organization safety program to ensure safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. This position is almost exclusively focused on safety, with minimal oversight of health and environmental. Responsibilities: Plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with SBM’s safety program, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. Conduct training for managers and employees in work site safety practices, company safety program policy, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, materials, equipment, and PPE. Inspect and audit the sites within the NYC market for potential accident and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented. Lead the investigation of accidents and injuries and develop injury reduction plans to reduce incident frequency and severity. Lead the development of job safety analysis with line employee’s involvement and train applicable staff. Represent the organization in customer meetings as needed in your market. Maintain safety files and records. This position requires frequent travel within the mid-Atlantic market by car daily, minimal overnight stays required. Qualifications: Minimum of 7 years safety experience with a primary focus on OSHA compliance, BBS, job safety analysis, RCA CAPA methods, and a business partner mindset. Behavioral based safety experience preferred. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not needed. Safety experience in facility services or other services-based industries, distribution/warehousing, Manufacturing, or other high-volume industry preferred. Bachelor’s degree in business management or a related field from a four-year college or university with some years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
