Title : Site Superintendent

Location: Arlington Heights corporate office (occasionally) and 626 Wabash job site location (mostly)

Interview: 1, potentially 2, Teams interviews depending on hiring manager availability!

Duration: 6 month contract to permanent hire

• W2 contract
• Eligible for benefits during contract period
• Paid x1.5 for any overtime

Pay Rate: $40-55/hr with potential flexibility!

JOB DESCRIPTION

Will be onsite at a high-rise construction jobsite within the Chicago loop. Will be with the customer Monday-Friday and will manage the jobsite and push projects to completion at the high rise. Will keep the Project Manager in the loop on updates, and help manage subcontractors and timelines. Will manage the schedule and be the eyes and ears of the MEP project.

• It is a 19 story high rise and our client is partnering with a General Contractor on it. Our client is the mechanical sub overseeing the low voltage, BAS controls, security, fire, etc. They are doing a ton of coordinating with ComEd. Will need to be confident supporting a big project like this!

MUST HAVES:

• Experience managing subcontractors in the electrical and/or mechanical space (MEP preferred), low voltage
• MEP project/low voltage experience
• New build high rise project experience
• Comfortable being onsite with the customer
• Familiar with the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems used, including the typical sequence of installation.
• Experience managing a schedule
• Experience managing a project of over 1 million dollars or higher

PLUSSES :

• Knowledge of the Chicago High Rise building codes for MEP systems is also ideal.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE DESCRIPTION:

• Successful candidate will be experienced enough to be proactive to situations arising on site.
• Confident enough to know when it is appropriate to give pushback to the General Contractor/improper sequencing on site without ruining the relationship that has been built with the GC.
• Being able to protect our client's trades will give this candidate some leadership credit to our trades on site which will help when situations do come up.
• This candidate will take quality control seriously and be checking installations daily to ensure what we contractually owe is being installed.
• They will be able to look ahead to avoid our trades needing to change gears which will also help with being seen as leadership on site.
• For the most part, utilities are complete so that is no longer a must-have experience.
• This purpose of this position is to limit risk on site.
