*Electrical CAD Technician*
*Onsite St. Louis, MO* *Contract* *Description:* Brooksource is hiring an Electrical CAD Technician to join our Utilties Engineering client. In this role, you will function as a member of a technical team alongside Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers and will be responsible for the creation and revision of technical drawings associated with the design and engineering of electrical substations. This is an on-site role; no hybrid or remote work. *Responsibilities:* *-*Assist with preparing new drawings and revising existing engineering drawings of basic components based on written instructions. *-*Ensure all work adheres to company and client drafting standards, procedures, and ANSI practices. *-*Assist with drafting, design, and documentation across various electrical substation projects. -Use AutoCAD and other drafting/design software to support project deliverables. *-*Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to meet schedules and project goals. *-*Take ownership of ad hoc tasks and assignments as needed. *-*Support communication with clients and internal teams when working independently on smaller assignments. *Requirements:* *-*Minimum Associates degree in CAD-related program or specialized CAD certification plus 1+ years of relevant drafting experience. *-*May consider a HS graduate with specialized CAD certification and 25 years of relevant experience. *-*Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with AutoCAD Electrical and Revit is a plus. *-*Self-motivated, eager learner with a desire to grow into more advanced design responsibilities. *-*Excellent verbal and written communication skills; extraverted and leadership-oriented candidates preferred. *-*Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. *-*Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. *-*Curiosity to understand design decisions and proactive approach to learning beyond CAD tasks. *-*Technology-savvy, able to leverage tools efficiently; experience with coding, automation, or AI/LLM tools is a plus.
