*HGM Associates Inc. has an immediate long-term opportunity for a Senior Bridge Design Engineer to join our rapidly growing Transportation Practice in our Omaha, Nebraska office. Our ideal candidate is someone with experience developing bridge design plans, a desire to lead projects, and a willingness to mentor less experienced engineers. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills who can work both independently and in a team environment.*
Responsibilities: Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of bridge designs. Lead a team in the development of bridge design projects for structures assigned by City, County, and State agencies. Mentor less experienced staff members in the areas of bridge design and project management. Supervise and assist the development of structural details for inclusion in bridge construction documents. Supervise and perform structural load calculations, geometric layout, and quantity development. Utilize specialized software to complete bridge design computations. Supervise and perform bridge load rating calculations to determine the load-carrying capacities of existing bridges and the appropriate load posting values. May be responsible for in-service field bridge inspection and assist with preparing reports of inspection findings.
