Colorado Public Radio is seeking an Accounting Specialist.

We are not seeking to utilize any hiring agencies to fill this role at this time.

About the Position:

The Accounting Specialist will support CPRs financial health by handling accounts receivable and payable, as well as other day-to-day accounting tasks.

You will be responsible for identifying and processing incoming donations and sponsor payments, making check deposits, checking a dedicated AR email, and preparing monthly billing for sponsorship. You may also support accounts payable functions by preparing payment data in the accounting system, checking a dedicated AP email, researching payments, investigating variances or discrepancies, and processing weekly vendor payments. You will assist employees with company credit card questions and issues, and may assist with bi-weekly payroll, provide training, and respond to general staff inquiries.

This is not a remote position. The Accounting Specialist is expected to reside in the Denver Metro area upon starting.

You look forward to partnering with multiple departments, helping them efficiently and accurately process financial items. You communicate proactively and patiently because you know the ability to collaborate and maintain trusting working relationships is crucial for addressing inquiries, resolving issues and fostering a culture of excellent customer service. Your ability to manage your time is strong and youre comfortable with needing to switch between tasks as needed. You value curiosity, accountability, and a growth-oriented attitude.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4 years of experience generally related to the position. This experience should include familiarity with entering data into an accounting software system, AP and/or AR, and investigating accounting variances or discrepancies.
• Must have experience with accounting software systems, Excel, and learning processes in new software efficiently.
• A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and provide excellent customer service.
• A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Education Equivalency:

• None, but a fully related associates or bachelors degree may help contribute to the minimum years of experience needed to qualify for this position.
